Did You Find Yourself?

Before we’re born, they give us a name. Day one on Earth, they start stating what we’re going to look like as we grow older. As the first few weeks pass, they give us a personality. This keeps happening until we reach an age where we start questioning who we truly are, and not who they made us out to be by their perceptions of what we do, how we react, or what we look like. Do they know how I feel? Do they know what I’m thinking? Do I even know? One can hit the age of maturity and still not know who he or she is or what purpose he or she is serving in this confusing life. Who am I? What do I want to do with my life? Am I happy? What makes me #happy? Do you know? I'm still figuring this out myself!

Every moment counts, every experience builds, and the fact that you still have so much ahead of you to go through makes it impossible to define yourself at any time.

What you go through in life makes you who you are. The pain, the hurt, the struggle, and the harshness of life, all make you #stronger when you realize that you got through it all. The love, the care, the smiles, and the #friendships get the sweetness out of you whether you like it or not. Every moment counts, every experience builds, and the fact that you still have so much ahead of you to go through makes it impossible to define yourself at any time.

However, there’s always that one thing you do best; that one thing that brings out the best in you; that fires you up and keeps pushing you to get out all that you’ve got to give. Some find themselves in a #passion, a #job, a #hobby. Others find themselves in a person, a soul mate, a friend. One might find himself/herself in a community, a country, a society, but how long do we have to keep searching to find that out? It’s that fire inside you that never stops you from searching. It’s that will to make your life a meaningful experience and lesson to those after you. Or maybe it’s merely that evasive sense of fulfillment or relief that you’ve found for once in your life in something or someone that makes all this pain worth it.

It’s that fire inside you that never stops you from searching.

Lucky are the few who find what completes them early on, but most end up searching for it their whole lives and not finding it at all. Be one of those few. Go out, try new things, and meet new people. Participate in events you never imagined you would, conquer your deepest fears, get out of your routine. If you can’t find yourself in where you are now, maybe what you’re searching for is in a place you’ve never been to before; you won’t find out until you explore it. And when you do find it, embrace it, love it, take care of it, because you’re the only person who gets to be that and there’s something in you that every one of us can learn from.

Here’s an advice from me, a person who finds a piece of herself in every person she meets and everything she does: when you find that thing or person who is so greedy to take a part of you more than any other person or thing ever has, never let him, her, or it go. Keep #grinding, stay focused, and let the passion and love inside of you spread out to those around you.

Have a safe hunt.
